Capturing Communities

Capturing Communities

SlideShare | View Presentation

I was asked to speak to a group of entrepreneurs at a luncheon series, hosted by The Covenant Group in Toronto, about the power and importance of the community space, specifically as it relates to marketing strategy. My approach to this engagement quite different than my usual methodology.

I really felt I could demonstrate the power of the social web if my presentation was actually constructed with existing content available in many of the communities I participate in. There is so much great info there that others have chosen to share and collaborate on. Since design is very important to me, I did take the time to re-work the look and feel of the slides to better refelct me but as they say, “conent is king”. Many thanks to all who contribute their content to SlideShare.net. The social universe is a great place!

Great presentation today Ben – you engaged all of us in learning more about how to join “the conversation”. You provided a lot of food for thought – personally, I’m looking forward to checking out SlideShare for a presentation tomorrow! Cheers, S.

Thanks. I can’t wait until we can add the ‘new project’ to the list of successful communities!

Your presentation provided insightful information about the many aspects of creating client communities. As you suggested, they already exist.
By participating with our clients, we get a chance to understand them more, appreciate them and learn from them so we can provide a better solution in the future. If we adjust ourselves to what our clients want, I think we’ll guarantee they’ll continue to come back.
Excellent and inspirational work.

Cool explanation of the new media, hugely demonstrates where we are going, by showing how far we have actually gone.

This would a great gift to those still spending big bucks in traditional media.

The photographic analogy in pictures
is very cool…

Ben – Loved the presentation. I’m not sure whether I love the message more than the collaborative way you pulled from your collaborators – either way – I enjoyed getting your perspective. You’ve got so much to teach … and I love your choice of medium.

From start to finish, it’s a solid presentation, Ben, as well as very insightful. You’ve touched upon an interesting topic and you’ve definitely got my attention. Looking forward to discussing it further.
